Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to a sound bath session?

Please bring your own yoga mat, blanket and pillow to ensure you're comfortable throughout the session. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and bringing layers as your body temperature may change during relaxation. Refreshments will be provided.

What happens during a sound bath?

During a sound bath, you'll lie down comfortably on your mat whilst I play various instruments including singing bowls, gongs and other healing tools. The sounds create vibrations that help calm your mind and relax your body. There's nothing you need to do except listen and allow yourself to receive the healing sounds.

Do I need any experience with meditation or sound healing?

Not at all. Sound baths are suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners. The healing vibrations work naturally with your body, so you simply need to be open to the experience.

How long does a session last?

Sessions last 60 minutes, including time to settle in at the beginning and gently return to awareness at the end.

What if I fall asleep during the session?

Falling asleep is perfectly normal and welcomed. Your body will still receive the benefits of the sound vibrations even whilst you're sleeping, so don't worry if you drift off.

Can I attend if I'm pregnant?

Sound baths can be wonderful for expectant mothers, but please let me know about your pregnancy when booking so I can ensure the session is appropriate for you and avoid any contraindicated frequencies.

What if I have hearing difficulties?

Sound baths work through vibration as well as audible sound, so you can still benefit even if you have hearing challenges. The vibrations travel through your body and can be deeply healing.

Should I eat before attending?

It's best to avoid heavy meals 2-3 hours before your session, though a light snack is fine. You want to be comfortable lying down for the duration of the session.

What if I feel emotional during or after the session?

Emotional responses are completely normal as sound healing can help release stored tension and emotions. I'm here to support you, and we can chat afterwards if you'd like to share your experience.

How often should I attend sound bath sessions?

This depends entirely on your personal needs and preferences. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, whilst others prefer monthly or occasional visits. Listen to your body and what feels right for you.

Can children attend sound bath sessions?

Children are generally welcome, though it depends on the specific session and the child's ability to remain quiet and still. Please contact me to discuss whether a particular session would be suitable for your child.

What if I can't lie down on the floor?

Please let me know about any physical limitations when booking. We can arrange chairs or other seating options to ensure you're comfortable throughout the session.
